Through the Eyes of Children - by David Njihia (Kenya), Mama C (Tanzania) and Laced Sisters(Tanzania)

This poem 'Through the eyes of Children' was inspired by months of working with the kids of Leaders Of Tommorow Children's Home- Arusha, Tanzania.

Play the Music

This poem
 Is dedicated to all children
And to all who believe
That the future of our continent Africa
Need to be invested in education of her children
Africa
Through the eyes
Africa
Through the eyes of Children
Africa

Through the eyes of children Africa, I see love
Through the eyes of children Africa, I see love
I see love

Through the eyes of Children, I see hope and determination
Through the eyes of Children, I see a call for collective action

I see no tribal fights; I see respect for human rights
Through the eyes of Children, I see no tribal fights
Through the eyes of Children, I see respect of human rights

I see desire to make a change; desire
Through the eyes of Children, I see a desire to make a change
Through the eyes of Children, I see a desire to be the change

I see a future so bright, so bright
Through the eyes of Children, I see the future so bright
Through the eyes of Children I see a chance to make it right

Through the eyes of children Africa I see love
Through the eyes of children Africa I see love
I see love

Through the eyes of Children I see simplicity in life’s complexity
Through the eyes of Children I see beauty in diversity

I see no slaves of money, are living in harmony
Through the eyes of Children, I see no slaves of money
Through the eyes of Children, I see you and I live in harmony

Through the eyes of Watoto, leaders of tomorrow
And I maintain that empowerment through all is real
It can heal the most broken spirit, consonance spirit of blossom
They are imagining,
So we gonna catch them when they are young yo
Catch them while their minds are still fresh
And open the possibilities
Catch them before those questing stabs of failure and frustrations
Constant frictions of life disappointments
Split open and rip apart those layers of hope and joy and determination
That are theirs and our own life birth rights
So we gonna catch them when they are young yo
Then through their own confidence
They will learn the power of love
They will learn that violence against another
Is a blow against one himself
Though the confidence that we instill in them
Through our own example
The will learn compassion
And they will learn to heal the planet

Through the eyes of children Africa I see love
Through the eyes of children Africa I see love

3rd Emerging Leaders Summit

The World Youth Alliance Africa invites youth leaders from across Kenya for the 3rd EMERGING LEADERS SUMMIT- a National Youth gathering on the 25th of February 2012 at Ufungamano House in Nairobi.

The theme for this year’s summit is Kenyan youth: A force for economic development and change.

In the last election in Kenya, young people were used to cause mayhem, destroy property and kill fellow Kenyan’s by politicians. The aim of this year’s summit is to educate the youth leaders on responsible citizenship, importance of life, peace and to engage political leaders on issue based discussion on how we can move Kenya forward.

There will be a series of speeches, lectures from experts on matters of electioneering, good governance, peace and development and group discussions among the youth.

To confirm attendance contact Eddy Ombagi: eddie.wyaa@gmail.com  or call World Youth Alliance Africa office on 020250 86 26.

All are welcome.

A good message

THE SAME HAND THAT MADE THE UNIVERSE HOLDS YOU. When storms arise against you, THE HAND OF THE LORD WILL PUSH THEM back. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Don’t be scared of the fearsome battle. HE WILL HELP YOU. By His hand, YOU WILL PREVAIL. He has engraved your name in the palm of His hand. TRUST HIM. LEAN ON HIS EVERLASTING ARMS. Don’t panic. You’re safe in God’s hands. Trust Him. YOU WILL NOT FALL!!!

Isn't this wonderful to know

WHEN HEAVEN SEEMS SILENT…
“the point of prayer is to get God’s will accomplished on earth not man’s will accomplished in heaven.”
...my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness
2 Cor 12:9
Treat trials as a gift from God.
Gifts bring joy. James 1:2 – “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials knowing this, that the trying of your faith produces patience.
Gifts come from people who love you.Remember what God has already said.
When God doesn’t seem to be saying anything, rest your confidence on what God has already said!

A message on leadership and management

1. Management is doing things right, leadership is doing the right things.
2. Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because she wants to do it. You are the leaders may I be of service. Vote me in.
3. A leader is a dealer in hope.
4. May you delegate me the work to me because delegating work works, provided the one delegating works, too.
5. Let us NOT wait; the time will never be ‘just right’.  Let us start where we stand and work together with whatever tools we have at our command, and better solutions will be found as we go along.
6. Though powerful medicines be nauseous to the taste, they are good for the disease; though candid advice may be unpleasant to hear, it is profitable for ones conduct. We must guard jealously the values we hold close at heart as we dispense our duty of protecting the truth.
7. If we are to go forward, we must go back and rediscover those precious values (in our profession) that all reality hinges on moral foundations together.
